The senior second baseman/shortstop had a strong week at the plate, batting .777 to lead Howard to two wins in the Howard County league. Cain went 7-for-9 with two home runs, two doubles, a triple and 12 RBIs.
In a 14-10 win over Wilde Lake on April 7, Cain went 3-for-5 with two homers and seven RBIs. On Saturday, the Lions beat Atholton, 14-6, and he reached base all five times, going 4-for-4 with a walk. His four hits included two doubles and a triple and produced five more RBIs.
Howard is 8-2 overall and 7-1 in league play this season with Cain batting .548 with seven doubles, two home runs, one triple and 19 RBIs. A two-year varsity player, he has committed to Millersville (Pa.) University.
