The senior standout won the 220-pound class at the Maryland Independent Schools Tournament at McDonogh this weekend, going 5-0 with three pins and two tight decisions to avenge earlier losses this season. Nordhausen pinned each of his first three opponents in the first period. From there, he came away with a 4-1 decision over Georgetown Prep's Paul Triandafilou before claiming the title with a 3-2 decision over McDonogh's Mike Smith. Nordhausen (39-3 this season) is 148-35 in his four-year career — moving one win away from becoming the program's all-time leader in wins. Conan Schuster, a 2012 grad, finished with 149 wins. Nordhausen, whose 101 career pins is tops in the program, will next compete at the National Prep Tournament this weekend at Lehigh University. He earned the second seed at 220 pounds. Nordhausen has accepted an appointment and will wrestle at the United States Military Academy next year.
