The 6-foot-7 senior forward was the catalyst and steadying influence in three wins for the Cougars (22-6) last week that propelled them to the No. 1 ranking in The Baltimore Sun's Top 15 poll. On Wednesday, Jenkins finished with 14 points and eight rebounds as Mount Carmel defeated St. Maria Goretti, 72-60. He then had 14 points, seven rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots in Friday's 73-50 win over McDonogh. In last Saturday's game against No. 6 John Carroll, he scored 19 points and added five rebounds and four steals in the Cougars' 61-56 win. In his second year on varsity, Jenkins has averaged 14.3 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. An All-Baltimore Catholic League second-team selection last season, he is still undecided on where he will play in college.
