The standout senior enjoyed a record-breaking weekend at the National Catholic High School Championships at Loyola University, leading the Dons to a first-place finish in the 14-team field. Buese set two meet and school records, capturing the 200-yard freestyle in one minute, 38.31 seconds and the 100 backstroke in 49.69 seconds — both automatic All-American qualifying times. He also was part of the Dons' first-place 200 freestlye relay team. Buese, set to swim at Princeton next year, is undefeated this season and has qualified for All-American status in four events. Last season, he was also an All-American in four events. Loyola Blakefield dominated the two-day meet (Jan. 24-25) to comfortably defeat runner-up Georgetown Prep by a 416-354 margin.
