The senior heavyweight started last week with four pins to lead the No. 2 Patriots to the title at prestigious Mount Mat Madness on Monday and Tuesday and followed that with four wins at the Battlefield Duals in Stafford, Va., on Saturday. Scott finished the week 8-0 with seven pins. On Tuesday, he scored a second-period pin against Glenelg's Jamie Cooch in the 285-pound finals as the Patriots rolled to a 204.5-163.5 win over runner-up Fauguier (Va.) in the 31-team tournament at Mount Saint Joseph. Scott had three more pins in the Battlefield Duals at Colonial Forge High School, but his most impressive performance was an 11-2 major decision over Virginia's second-ranked heavyweight, Kyle Pederson, from Battlefield. Scott is 20-3 this season and the Maryland State Wrestling Association ranks him fourth in the state in the 285-pound class. In his four years at John Carroll, he's 119-22 with 85 pins.
