Two-time defending Class 3A state champion Milford Mill has had the better of things against Owings Mills in recent years — including a 61-44 win in last year's Baltimore County championship game, which gave the Millers their third straight title. The Millers' deep roster and fundamentally sound team play gives opponents plenty to worry about. In their season-opening 80-71 win against Calvert Hall on Tuesday, the Millers featured that balance with four players scoring in double figures. Cormier is the floor leader, and Glenelg Country transfer Miles is a dominating player inside with exceptional athleticism. Added in the mix are Owings Mills transfer guards Kyle Thomas and Tyson Smith, who played a big role in helping the Eagles reach the state tournament a second straight time last year. Epps said a key for Owings Mills will be avoiding turnovers, slowing the pace and getting production from his frontcourt. Eber and newcomer Kevin Yrizarry will play big roles inside, and Wilson and Jenkins are the primary impact players on the perimeter.
