Calvert Hall basketball star Brendan Adams decommits from Rhode Island

Calvert Hall basketball standout Brendan Adams has decommitted from Rhode Island, according to Cardinals coach John Bauersfeld.

The 6-foot-4 point guard, a four-year varsity player, received his release from his letter of intent Tuesday.

Adams committed to Rhode Island to play for coach Dan Hurley, who stepped down to take over the Connecticut program March 22. Assistant coach David Cox was promoted to head coach at Rhode Island.

Adams is a three-star player ranked No. 139 nationally in the Rivals150 for the 2018 class. He averaged 18 points, four rebounds and three assists per game in his senior season.

Bauersfeld said Adams has already been contacted by Connecticut, Xavier and Seton Hall.
