Kiple led the Bruins to their second consecutive Class 4A state championship with an 11-1 victory over Sherwood. Broadneck finished the season ranked No. 1 in the metro area with a record of 22-2.
Kiple took over the program before the 2009 season after Bruins coach Jim Ware died in the summer of 2008. After two years at the helm, Kiple, who was a volunteer assistant with Ware, is stepping down because he wants to spend time watching his stepdaughter,
