Boys' Latin routs Severn, McDonogh girls win 109th straight

Boys lacrosse

No. 1 Boys' Latin 19, Severn 2: Colin Dempsey scored four goals to power the Lakers (14-0, 7-0 Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference) past the host Admirals (7-10, 1-6).


No. 3 McDonogh 9, No. 4 St. Mary's 7: Brinton Valis scored four goals to lead the Eagles (13-3, 5-2) past the host Saints (9-5, 3-4).

No. 5 Calvert Hall 7, Archbishop Spalding 2: Timmy Kelly scored four goals to power the host Cardinals (12-4, 4-3 MIAA A Conference) past the Cavaliers (7-10, 0-7).


Calvert Hall led 3-1 before Spalding cut the lead to 3-2 with a 1:18 left. The Cardinal defense clamped down in the second half.

No. 6 Gilman 7, Mount St. Joseph 6: Tyler Ruhl scored four goals to power the Greyhounds (9-5, 4-3) past the host Gaels (8-7, 1-6).

No. 8 Westminster 11, Middletown 3: Jesse Uhlman scored a game-high six goals and the Owls (13-0) beat the host Knights.

Girls lacrosse

No. 1 McDonogh 18, No. 14 Century 10: Brindi Griffin scored four goals and the host Eagles (18-0) overcame a slow start to beat the Knights (7-4) for their 109th straight win.

Century jumped out to a 2-0 lead before McDonogh settled down and took a 9-4 lead at intermission. The win was marks the 109th straight win for McDonogh.
