Arundel 39, No. 15 South River 36: Arundel's Isaiah Olugbemi pinned Brendan Woody just 20 seconds into the second period of the heavyweight match to catapult the Wildcats to a win over the previously-undefeated Seahawks Thursday.

Nelson Torres' pin at 182 pounds gave Arundel a 33-24 lead with three matches to go, but pins by Zach Osborne and Jake Vermillion gave South River (4-1) a chance to win.

Arundel (4-1) needed a major decision or better from Olugbemi (13-0) to ensure a victory. Had Olugbemi won by just a decision, the meet would have been tied and decided by criteria. The two schools were tied in falls (five), so secondary criteria would have decided the match.

The Wildcats also got pins from Nathan Gainey (13-0), Jack Owen, Darius Hunter and Tyler Rendina, who earned his 68th career win and improved to 13-0 on the season. Calvin Brumfield, Gage Kinoh and Stan Leone also earned pins for the Seahawks.
