New Town got pushed into overtime by host Edgewood on Tuesday, but the Titans' free-throw shooting gave them the edge and the boys basketball game, 69-66.
The Titans (3-1) outscored the Rams (2-1), 8-5, in the extra period. Kuante Sargent went 3-for-4 from the line in the extra period and 7-for-10 for the game. He finished with a game-high 25 points for New Town.
Edgewood's Tyrone McKisset made a 3-pointer at the buzzer to tie the score at 61 and force overtime.
New Town led for most of the game, but never by more than three points
No. 7 Lake Clifton 66, Dunbar 39: Gary Jefferson (24 points) and Derrick Green (15 points) led the way as the host Lakers (4-0) beat the Poets (0-4).
Ben Franklin 76, Northwestern 59: The host Bayhawks (3-3) were led by Darius Miller (18 points) and Terry Page (17 points).
