No. 10 Calvert Hall 3, Archbishop Spalding 2: D.R. Medpart scored while Andrew Reter and Frank Affaro each had an assist to lead the Cardinals over the Cavaliers in a Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association quarterfinal Monday.
Aaron Barclay and Eian Lomash scored for Spalding.
Calvert Hall goalkeeper Sam Loeffler made seven saves.
Girls soccer
Hereford 4, Loch Raven 3: Marissa Inglisa, Sam Hooker, Catie Denz and Danielle Magio scored as the Bulls beat the Raiders in the Class 2A North championship Monday.
Maggi also had three assists, while Denz added one. Holly Fitch and Megan Harper scored for Loch Raven, with one assist by Alexis Corbitt.
Goalkeeper Giulianna Rossi made six saves for Hereford, while the Raiders' Erin Muir had eight.
The score was tied at 1 at halftime.
No. 11 Manchester Valley 7, Havre de Grace 0: For many young programs, a trip to the state tournament is a grand reward for a great season. But for the Manchester Valley girls soccer team, regional titles have almost become an expectation.
The Mavericks started fast Monday night, scoring four goals in the opening 21 minutes, to handily defeat Havre de Grace 7-0 in the Class 1A South region final for their fourth straight regional title.
MV will face the winner of Northern Garrett-Smithsburg on Saturday in the state semifinals.
"We're setting a tradition," Mavs junior Lizzie Colson said. "Four years in a row, we're really setting standards high for ourselves. It feels awesome. It feels great every time."
Nikki Miller and Colson each scored a trio of goals for the Mavs (14-1-1).
Manchester Valley is looking for its third state title in four seasons.
