Varsity roundup (Oct. 27): No. 15 Chesapeake-AA boys soccer advances in 3A playoffs

Cameron Tyler and Dominic Byerly scored to lead the host and No. 15 Chesapeake-Anne Arundel boys soccer team (10-2-3) past Northeast (3-10-1) in a Class 3A East Section II semifinal, 2-1.

Catonsville 6, Perry Hall 0: Allison Campbell scored four goals and Brittany Stevens had three assists to lead the host Comets (9-6) to a 6-0 victory over the Gators (5-7) in a Section I semifinal of the Class 4A North Region.

Catonsville will play at Dulaney on Monday in the section final.

Edgewood 1, Aberdeen 0: Hailey Fisher had the game-winner to lift the host Rams (7-5) over the Eagles (6-5) in a Class 3A North Section II semifinal.

River Hill 9, Oakland Mills 0: Gaby Hamburger and Cristina Scolaro scored three goals each to power the host Hawks (11-4) past the Scorpions (2-9) in a Class 2A East Section I semifinal.

Bel Air 1, C. Milton Wright 0: Anna Farley scored to lift the Bobcats (5-8) over the host Mustangs (10-4) in a Class 3A North Section I semifinal.

Girls volleyball

The Panthers and Spalding are unbeaten in the conference along with Mount Saint Joseph, so with no A Conference postseason, the final three weeks will be their playoffs.

No. 3 Atholton d. Oakland Mills, 3-0: Sam Miller, Lisa Zoch and Brooke Mason each had eight kills to lead the host Raiders (10-4) past the Scorpions (5-8).

Atholton won, 25-13, 25-17, 25-10.

No. 4 St. Paul's d. Archbishop Spalding, 3-0: The Gators completed a 12-0 league record in the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference and claimed the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament.

St. Paul's (14-1-1) beat the Cavaliers (11-6, 10-2), 25-19, 26-24, 25-19. Jala Tucker had 20 kills, Monet Peoples had 11 kills and Morgan Hill had 30 assists for the Gators.

No. 5 Arundel d Notre Dame Prep, 3-0: Alicia Eldredge had 23 assists and Kiera Holtzclaw had eight kills to lead the Wildcats (12-2) past the host Blazers (9-8), 25-21, 25-23, 25-16.

Harford Tech d. Bel Air, 3-1: Bethany Bishop had six kills and Tori Grubowski had nine assists as the host Cobras (5-8) beat the Bobcats (3-9), 25-21, 12-25, 25-23, 25-14.
