Fall sports: Unbeaten McDonogh blanks struggling Loyola, 40-0

Josh Woods had three touchdown receptions and No. 3 McDonogh (9-0, 4-0 Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference) earned its third shutout of the football season with a 40-0 win over visiting Loyola (2-6, 0-4) on Saturday.

The Lightning (1-7) was within range to kick the go-ahead field goal with less than a minute left when Sam McCoy intercepted a pass around the 15-yard line and returned it 85 yards to clinch the homecoming win for the Mustangs (2-6).

St. Mary's 36, No. 6 St. Paul's 34: Trailing 34-33 in the fourth quarter, Jake Ellis made a field goal as the visiting Saints (4-4, 2-2 MIAA B Conference) upset the Crusaders (7-1, 3-1).

Earlier in the quarter, Ellis completed a 5-yard touchdown pass to Hunter Sears.

The loss ended an 18-game winning streak by St. Paul's.

Ellis finished five of 11 for 63 yards and two touchdown passes. He also went 3-for-5 for extra-point attempts and the game-winning field goal. Omaryan White had 21 carries for 248 yardsa and three touchdowns.

Keifer Rawlings led the way for St. Paul's with two touchdown runs of one and three yards.

No. 12 Glenelg 21, Centennial 3: Walter Fletcher had 16 carries for 81 yards for the visiting Gladiators (7-1).

The Eagles fell to 5-3.

Edgewood 46, Harford Tech 20: Jeremy Middlebrooks had 24 rushes for 284 yards and four touchdowns to power the host Rams (5-3) past the Cobras (1-6).

Defensively, Shawn Kluchinsky had a fumble recovery for a touchdown for Edgewood.

North Harford 53, C. Milton Wright 26: Omar Walker went 11-for-14 for 306 yards and two touchdowns and had 103 rushing yards and a touchdown in a loss for the host Mustangs (4-4). The Hawks improved to 5-2.
