Volleyball
Maryvale 3, No. 14 St. Paul's 0: Claire Neff had 24 kills and Sophie Savick made 28 assists and the Lions (12-3, 9-3 Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference) upset the host Gators (10-3, 8-3). Maryvale won, 25-11, 25-18, 25-21.
St. Mary's 3, Bryn Mawr 0: The visiting Saints (11-1, 8-0 IAAM B Conference) got perfect serving from Liz Harris (16-for-16), Karry Kelliher (15-for-15) and Alli Cherry (14-for-14) to beat the Mawrtians (4-5, 4-4). St. Mary's won, 25-11, 25-22, 25-15.
Girls soccer
No. 8 Perry Hall 2, Dulaney 1: Kara Dietrich scored twice to lead the Gators (9-2) past the host Lions (7-6).
Gerstell Academy 1, Glenelg Country 0: Natalie Lennartsson scored the second-half game-winner to lift the Falcons (5-5-2, 1-4 IAAM A Conference) over the host Dragons (1-7, 0-5).
Severn 2, Bryn Mawr 1: Alina Valencia scored twice to lead the Admirals (3-6-1, 3-2 IAAM B Conference) past the host Mawrtians (5-2, 3-2).
Field hockey
Carver A&T 1, Loch Raven 0: Freshman Brianna Berman scored the game-winner on an assist from Kennedy Brumagin to lift the visiting Wildcats (8-2) over the Raiders (4-2-1).
Golf
District VII Championship: Patterson Mill's Paula Moon and Fallston's William Creery won District VII golf championships at Mountain Branch Golf Course in Joppa. Both juniors and repeat champions, Moon shot 80 to lead the girls and Creery shot 76 to pace the boys on the par 72 course.
Both qualified for the Maryland State Tournament scheduled for Oct. 22-24 at the University of Maryland Golf Course in College Park.
