McDonogh boys rout L. Raven, 8-0

Wake Forest-bound senior Mike Gamble did not have another four-goal game, but he did have five assists and one goal and top-ranked McDonogh boys soccer stayed perfect shutting out visiting Loch Raven, 8-0, on a rainy Tuesday afternoon.

Devin Callinan had two goals and an assist to lead the Eagles (3-0). The Raiders fell to 1-1.

Three McDonogh keepers combined efforts in the shutout, led by Matt Sanchez with two saves.

No. 9 Curley 6, Bel Air 2: P.J. Koscher had a hat trick to power the visiting Friars (3-0) past the Bobcats (1-1).

Kenny Duckworth had two goals and two assists for Curley, which originally was scheduled to host the game; it was moved to Bel Air's turf field because of weather conditions.

Field hockey

No. 3 Garrison Forest 2, Archbishop Spalding 0: Austin Davis scored first with 12:20 left in the first half before Erica Marshall added an insurance goal with 14:47 left in the game for the host Grizzlies (1-0).

The Cavaliers fell to 1-1.

No. 5 Bryn Mawr 7, Towson1: Hannah Parks had a hat trick and the host Mawrtians (1-0) rolled past the Generals.

Molly Danko had a goal and two assists for Bryn Mawr.

Girls volleyball

No. 5 Archbishop Spalding def. Reservoir, 3-2: The visiting Cavaliers (1-0) got off to a slow start, with poor passing and setting, and lost the first two sets before taking control of the net in the final three. Jamie Romabach led Spalding with 13 kills, 13 assists and seven blocks. The Gators fell to 0-1.
