No. 8 Calvert Hall 5, No. 11 Eastern Tech 4: Dylan Burress scored the game-winning header in the 39th minute to lift the host Cardinals (1-0) over the Mavericks (2-1). Eastern Tech led 2-1 at the half.
No. 10 Mount Saint Joseph 1, St. Paul's 1: Tyquan Stroud scored the game-tying goal five minutes into the second half for the visiting Gaels (0-0-1 Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference). The Crusaders are now 0-0-1.
No. 13 Perry Hall 3, Fallston 2: Jaeden Asare, Jared Mejia and Zach Eichelberger each scored for the visiting Gators (1-0) to help Perry Hall edge the Cougars (0-1). Fallston cut the lead to one with 10 minutes left in the game.
Archbishop Spalding 4, Severn 2: Alex Flores, Lucca Mazzola and Henry Hardart each had a goal and an assist, as the Cavaliers (3-0) earned their third win in a row to start the season with a victory over the host Admirals (-12).
Spalding, under second-year coach Pat Crawford, were ready to play despite the game getting bumped back two hours due to the heat. Flores was particularly zoned in early, nearly scoring in the third minute before putting Spalding ahead off an assist from Mazzola in the 11th minute.
"Our motto here is 'All In,' and you see that in our results and our goals and assists," Crawford said. "There is nobody that is the man here. We are all in this together and there has to be sacrifices to do that, from player 1 to player 23."
