Varsity roundup: Mount de Sales rallies past Seton Keough in IAAM A softball semifinals

Mount de Sales (14-5) rallied from a 3-1 deficit with five runs in the fourth and four in the sixth on its way to a 10-5 victory over No. 2 Seton Keough (16-3) in the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference softball semifinals.

The game was a rematch of the past two IAAM title games. The Gators won in 2014 and the Sailors in 2013.

Karlee Stocksdale went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs to lead the Sailors. Jillian Boyd (three RBIs) and Amber Cosgrove each had three hits for the host Gators.

Archbishop Spalding 3, Glenelg Country 2: The host Cavaliers (19-3) captured the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association B Conference championship by beating the Dragons (6-6) under first-year coach Jon Jacobson.

Zach Eckel won at No. 1 singles for Spalding.

Carroll County Championship:

Century's boys collected seven first-place finishes in the 18 events at Manchester Valley and had more than enough points to be declared team champions for the third year in a row and fourth in the past six. Century had 138 points while Westminster was second with 98.

Liberty claimed its fifth consecutive girls county crown. The Lions finished with 120 points, 14 ahead of Century.

Since 1973, only Westminster (1995-2002) has a longer win streak.
