Boys lacrosse: Pikesville beats New Town, 8-5

Pikesville 8, New Town 5: Slade Parson and Jake Given sparked a 4-0 run in the second half as the Panthers (1-3) outlasted the host Titans (0-2).

Both scored twice and Parson assisted on both of Given's goals. New Town's Matt Will scored on an overhand shot to draw within one, 4-3, before the four-goal rally by Pikesville that spanned the third and fourth quarters.

The Panthers took full advantage of unsettled situations to score on fast breaks and cut and rolls. Five back-and-forth empty possessions in the third quarter wore down the short-handed Titans.

Given and New Town's Austin Dews each finished with three goals. New Town goalie Ahkeem Morgan made 10 saves, five in the first quarter.
