Roundup: No. 6 Lake Clifton boys pull away to rout Chesapeake-BC

Visiting Chesapeake-BC hung around for three quarters Tuesday, being outscored by three to five points in each quarter of a Class 2A North boys basketball quarterfinal.

Then No. 6 Lake Clifton used its pressure defense and started running in the fourth quarter, using a 27-4 spurt to win, 73-39.

Daquan Ross led Lake Clifton (20-3) with 15 points.

No. 3 Dunbar 67, Maritime Academy 31: Evan Singletary scored 15 points for the host Poets (20-3) in Class 1A South.

No. 7 Edmondson 74, Loch Raven 34: Isaiah Tripp scored a game-high 22 points to power the host Red Storm (17-4) past the Raiders in Class 2A North.

No. 8 Arundel 86, Chesapeake-AA 63: David Nicholson scored a game-high 27 points to lead the host Wildcats (23-1) past the Cougars in Class 4A East.

No. 9 City 54, Digital Harbor 46: The visiting Rams led for the first two minutes, and then it was all the Knights (19-5) in Class 3A North. Omari George scored 18 points and Charles Tapper had 15 for City.

No. 13 Forest Park 74, National Academy Foundation 54: Rysheed Corbin scored a game-high 23 points and added 11 assists to lead the host Foresters (17-3) past the Eagles in Class 1A South.

No. 15 Centennial 69, Howard 64: The host Eagles (19-5) made 15 of 21 free throws in the fourth quarter to pull away from the Lions in Class 3A East.

Western Tech 71, Pikesville 42: Andre Jackson (17 points, 14 rebounds) and Keith Crowell (13 points, 13 rebounds) dominated the interior, and Tre Beverly (14 points) and Cori Tabb (13 points) controlled the perimeter for the host Wolverines (14-5) in Class 1A North. The Panthers (9-15) were led by Jamelle Christian's 16 points.

Patterson Mill 64, Harford Tech 58: Trailing 28-27 after one half of play in Class 2A East, the host Huskies outscored the Cobras 23-10 in the third quarter.
