No. 12 Bel Air, No. 8 South Carroll win league wrestling championships

No. 12 Bel Air repeated as Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference wrestling champion Tuesday at Aberdeen High School.

The Bobcats totaled 253.5 points to easily outdistance second-place Patterson Mill (169.5). Harford Tech was third (147).

David Reagan (113 pounds), Brady Stafford (132), Cameron Watts (152), Scott Miser (160) and Dakota Crawford (285) won titles for Bel Air.Patterson Mill's Jake Nikkila won at 126, his second straight at that weight. Colin McDonald (120) and Joe King (220) also won for the Huskies.

Carroll County: South Carroll had eight wrestlers reach the finals Tuesday and crowned six champions en route to capturing the team title at Manchester Valley High.

Tom Boldosser was the last of three straight Cavalier champs to begin the finals, with the 120-pounder pinning Manchester Valley's Zach McAleer in the third period.

Joey Thomas (106) and Tim Null (113) got things started — Thomas (41-0) a major decision over Liberty's Jake Griffin, Null (40-1) a 6-4 win over Westminster's Ryker Eckenbarger — and Boldosser followed.

"I always know they can get the job done," Boldosser said.

Jamar Williams (138), Wade Slatniske (170), and Talmadge Eller (182) also became county champs and helped South Carroll total 208 points to take its first county tournament title since 2007.
