Varsity roundup: Mir McLean leads Roland Park past Pallotti in IAAM basketball

No. 6 Roland Park 60, St. Vincent Pallotti 51: UConn-bound Mir McLean scored a game-high 23 points to lead the host Reds (9-6, 4-2 Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference) over the Panthers (11-3, 4-2) Wednesday. Roland Park led 24-22 in the first half. Eniya Russell finished with a team-high 21 points for Pallotti.

Liberty 54, Century 25: Rachel Thiem scored 13 points to lead the Lions (5-6) past the host Knights (5-8). Liberty held Century to 14 points in the first half. Demma Hall scored nine points for the Knights.


Perry Hall 48, Kenwood 23: Lily Hines had 14 points and 13 rebounds to lead the host Gators (3-5) over the Bluebirds.

Fallston 53, Aberdeen 49: The Cougars won their sixth straight as sophomore guard Jillian Crawford led the offense with 18 points and three assists. Sophomore center Amanda Sharpe added nine points and five rebounds.


Sparrows Point 65, Perry Hall 18: The visiting Gators (5-5) got pins from Avonte Hughey (9-9), Caleb Sistrunk (5-1) and Joe Young (8-1). Perry Hall will host Carver A&T and Patapsco today at 4 p.m. The Pointers improved to 7-1.

Severn 42, Gerstell 36: The visiting Admirals (3-1) collected four pins and three forfeits and beat the Falcons. Ryan Money (132-pounds), Sam Bruce (132-pounds), Brad LaBella (15 2-pounds) and Quentin Day (195-pounds) all won by falls for Severn. The Falcons fell to 3-4.

Boys squash

Park 5, Boys’ Latin 2: The visiting Bruins claimed their first victory over the Lakers at Meadow Mill Athletic Club. Park won the first four matches with wins by Jake Lapin (No. 5), Sam Ferraro (No. 7), Luke Inglesby (No. 2) and Seth Panz (No. 4).
