The pregame dedication of Dunbar's home court in honor of Bob Wade fired up the Poets boys basketball team.
Dunbar (2-4) played to a halftime tie and led by as many as seven points before No. 4 Edmondson pulled away, 44-41, Tuesday.
The Red Storm (8-0) used a trapping defense to outpace Dunbar in the fourth quarter. Edmondson made a pair of free throws with two seconds left in the game and Dunbar could not advance the ball to get a last-second shot off.
The physical game between the two rivals resulted in 48 personal fouls. Keandre Cook finished with 17 points for the Red Storm.
Ben Franklin 62, Knowledge And Success Academy 25: Darius Miller scored 20 points to power the host Bayhawks (7-3) past the Eagles (1-6).
Ben Franklin stayed perfect at 3-0 in Baltimore City Division II conference.

No. 15 City 67, Digital Harbor 36: The visiting Knights (5-3) had too much depth and outmuscled the Rams (3-3) in the second half.
City expanded on its nine-point halftime lead by doubling Briona Smith and holding her to six points in the second half. Smith finished with a game-high 23 points.
Nkeiruka Okororie led five double-digit scorers for City with 15 points.
National Academy Foundation 64, Douglass 16: The visiting Eagles (5-0) opened with a 20-2 run and cruised past the Ducks (2-2).
Imani Miller had a game-high 19 points and Antrenell Purnell had 11 points for NAF.
Maritime Industries 54, Friendship Academy of Engineering & Technology 26. Lavontaye Hoyte scored 26 points to lead the host Anchors (3-3) past the Grizzlies (0-6).
