Roundup: McDonogh girls defeat Seton Keough, 49-42

The host McDonogh girls basketball team found itself trailing Seton Keough at the half, but the No. 3 Eagles regrouped in the second half behind Tiersa Winder and won their 10th straight game, 49-42, on Wednesday.

McDonogh (12-1) stayed perfect in Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference play at 4-0. Winder had 11 points. Taylor Cummings added nine points and six steals, and Hannah Rees had nine points and eight blocks.

No. 5 Glenelg 83, Wilde Lake 14: The Gladiators (10-0) opened the first half with a 45-7 run and never looked back. Emily Russo had 14 points and Sam Hesig added 13 for Glenelg. The Wildecats fell to 0-10.

No. 12 Oakland Mills 47, Long Reach 26: Jasmine Hill scored a game-high 17 points and Kara Hight added 12 as the host Scorpions (9-1) beat the Lightning.

No. 13 Catonsville 77, Owings Mills 30: Thirteen Comets scored, led by Maddy Hunt with 18 points. Catonsville (8-1) led 24-9 after the first quarter.

Boys

No. 11 Lake Clifton 60, Mervo 29: James Boone scored 19 points, and the host Lakers (6-2) handled the Mustangs.

Lake Clifton held Mervo to nine points in the first quarter and led 36-19 at the break.

No. 14 Centennial 65, Howard 45: The visiting Eagles (7-2) shot 24-for-41 from the field compared with the Lions' 16-for-42. Keonte Potts had a game-high 25 points for Centennial, which led 38-22 at the break.

Cristo Rey Jesuit 50, Beth Tfiloh 49, OT: With the Hornets trailing 49-48 and six seconds left in overtime, Jahmal Eggleston scored on a driving layup to lift host Cristo Rey Jesuit (7-8) over the Warriors.

Q'Ron Jones finished with a game-high 19 points for the Hornets.
