"This year, I think going into it, not only the coaching staff knew that but the players clearly were aware that we didn't have that player or two," Pentz said. "Not that it doesn't take a team, because it does, but I think it's been the one year that it's been such a team cameraderie. They worked together and everybody contributed in a different way. Everybody knew their role and I think everything came together very nicely."

Pentz, who took the Knights to the state final in their first season as a varsity program, retired as Century's coach after this season so she could watch her daughter Kaitlin, the Knights' goalie, play in college. She completes her run with a career record of 128-13.
