Three scouts receive promotions; regional scout hired from Saints

Milt Hendrickson, who was in charge of scouting the middle region of the U.S., and Lonnie Young, the former West regional scout, are the new national scouts.

Three scouts in the Ravens' personnel department earned promotions Thursday, with two veterans moving from regional to national assignments. Milt Hendrickson, who was in charge of scouting the middle region of the U.S., and Lonnie Young, the former West regional scout, are the new national scouts. The Ravens also promoted Andrew Raphael, who joined the organization in 2013, from personnel assistant to Southeast-area scout. To fill the Midwest-area scout position, the Ravens hired Dwaune Jones away from the New Orleans Saints. The Ravens' last national scout, Joe Douglas, left in May 2015 to become the Chicago Bears' director of college scouting. The position has been unfilled since Douglas left, and Douglas is now the director of player personnel for the Philadelphia Eagles. Last month, he hired longtime Ravens scout Andy Weidl, who was in charge of the team's East regional scouting. The Ravens have not had two national scouts recently.
