Weekend wrap: Terps reach out to former St. John's shooting guard commitment

* Former Terps power forward target Amile Jefferson reportedly picked up an offer from Duke.

* Maryland women's commitment A'Lexus Harrison had a huge game in leading Digital Harbor to a 40-37 win over Dunbar on Friday night.

She led the Rams with 19 points and 24 rebounds. In the first quarter, she scored six of her nine points on follow shots as the Rams outrebounded the defending state Class 1A champion Poets, 52-40.

* Terps forward signee Tierney Pfirman guided South Williamsport (Pa.) to a 46-35 win over Loyalsock.

And how much the Maryland-bound senior means to South was evident yesterday. She not only scored a game-high 24 points, but also grabbed 13 rebounds, blocked seven shots, dealt six assists and made six steals. Pfirman had a hand in 36 of South's 46 points and helped the Mounties (8-1, 3-0) remain tied for first in the HAC-II with Mount Carmel and Warrior Run.

* UM center recruit Malina Howard powered Twinsburg (Ohio) to an 80-20 win over Strongsville.

Senior center Malina Howard led all scorers with 20 points, followed by Leah Fechko (17 points) and junior Ashley Morrissette (13 points).
