All-Harford County Volleyball

PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Rachel Kuegler
Fallston

Kuegler, one of the area's top all-around players, handled 50 percent of the balls that came over the net, according to her coach, Nicole Hoover. The junior hitter, who has superior court vision and the ability to read the play, was the Cougars' leader both in her physical performance and positive attitude.

She was among the area leaders in kills with 172 - an average of 2.9 per game - and in serving with a percentage of .916 (217 of 237). In addition, Kuegler had 30 aces, 44 digs and 11 blocks for her 10-6 team that played in the Chesapeake division of the Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference.

COACH OF THE YEAR
Angie Taddia
Havre de Grace

Taddia led the No. 13 Warriors to their first appearance in the state volleyball semifinals and a 17-3 record. The Warriors took the top seed in the Class 1A South regional and reeled off three straight wins to advance to the state semifinals.

However, despite good efforts by setter Jill Umetin and hitter Claire Sheldon, both All-County selections, the Warriors lost in three games to Southern-Garrett in the semifinals.
