The senior came within one assist of a triple double in leading the No. 9 Falcons to a season-opening win last week against Carroll County rival North Carroll, 52-35. Cooke, a 5-foot-8 guard, finished with 18 points, 15 rebounds, nine assists and six steals. Last season's Carroll County Player of the Year and an All-Metro first-team selection, Cooke signed early to play basketball for Rhode Island. Last season, she averaged 13.4 points, 9.5 rebounds and 5.2 steals in leading the Falcons to the Class 2A state final and a 25-1 record. Cooke, also the 2007 county player of the year in soccer, scored 20 goals this fall for the Falcons and was named first-team All-State.
