Player of the Year
Liza Blue, Garrison ForestThe junior earned her second straight Baltimore County Player of the Year honor for taking on a different role this season. A midfielder last fall, Blue moved back to bolster a defense riddled by injuries. She was still involved in just about every aspect of the game. Able to make the big play on defense, she could also move around the field to work in transition or finish, contributing eight goals and 14assists for the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference champion.
Coach of the Year
Maggie Huether, Notre Dame PrepThe contenders had to be wary of the Blazers this fall. Everyone knew they could be spoilers, and they were - upsetting No.8 Bryn Mawr in the IAAM A Conference tournament before falling to No.10 Archbishop Spalding in a semifinal shootout. In her second season as head coach, Huether, a former NDP player, has brought consistency and leadership that shows in the Blazers' steady improvement. They were in almost every game and finished 7-11-2 after going 1-17 the year before she took over.
