PERFORMER OF THE YEAR
Jameice DeCoster
McDonoghThe sophomore helped McDonogh become one of the area's top teams, constantly coming up big in the tough meets.
In the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland championships, where the Eagles were upset by Seton Keough, DeCoster won the 300-meter dash, took third in the 55 meters and helped on the relays.
She capped her season by running what runningmaryland.com lists as the state's second-best time in the 200 (25.34 seconds) at the Nike Indoor Nationals at the Prince George's Sports & Learning Complex earlier this month.
COACHES OF THE YEAR
Alrick Munroe
and Jeff Sanborn
McDonoghand Jeff Sanborn
Munroe and Sanborn had a problem most coaches would relish - they had almost too much talent, and keeping everyone happy was a challenge. But they got it done, getting points from all over their roster throughout the season.
Led by Jameice DeCoster, Chante Sandiford and others, the Eagles' lone blemish was finishing second to Seton Keough at the IAAM championship meet. But McDonogh easily beat Class 3A-2A state champion North Carroll to win the Frostbite Invite, and later won the private school championship meet.
