Towson Catholic The senior guard matured over the past two seasons and became the catalyst for the area's top-ranked team.
Leading the Owls in scoring with 19.5 points per game, Delaney, 6 feet 3, also averaged 3.4 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.9 steals.
When the game was on the line, the Owls and coach Josh Pratt usually looked to Delaney and he almost always delivered. Towson Catholic went 31-4 with Delaney leading the way and did not lose a game to a local team.
Randallstown Rivers led the No. 3 Rams to a third consecutive state championship, something no other Baltimore County team has ever done, and it was the fifth in 13 years under him.
Without one go-to player, Rivers masterfully brought along a young team and wove them into a 2A state champion (the Rams won the Class 3A title in 2005).
Rivers led the Rams to a 24-3 record, his 12th 20-win season and eighth in a row, bringing his career mark to 292-46.
