All-Baltimore City girls indoor track team

PERFORMER OF THE YEAR
Letecia Wright
Western

Wth the graduation of Western All-Metro performers Theresa Lewis and Shalaiyah Sommerville, it was Wright's turn to be in the spotlight.

The senior won the state title in the 55-meter dash in 7.08 seconds, tying the meet record. She also won the 300 at states and took third in the 55-meter hurdles. That all came after Wright won four gold medals at both the Baltimore City and Central regional meets.

Her turning point might have come in the Montgomery Invite in January, when Wright won the 55 and the 55 hurdles with just a few minutes in between. She seemed to take off from there and played a big role in Western winning the City title, taking a close third in the regional and third in the state.
COACH OF THE YEAR
Lutalo Bakari
Digital Harbor

Under Bakari, the Rams just missed winning the Baltimore City title, but then captured the Class 2A-1A Central regional and Class 2A-1A state championships.

The state championship was dramatic, as Digital Harbor was three points behind heading into the final event, but the Rams brought home the championship by winning the 1,600-meter relay.
