Performer of the Year
Dorian Johnson Mount St. Joseph
The junior's ability to give the Gaels points in different events helped them win another Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association championship. Johnson gave new coach Vince Fuller a lot of options because he could do so many things in running and field events.
His ability was on display in the MIAA title meet. As the Gaels coasted to an impressive victory, Johnson pulled off the difficult task of winning the long jump and triple jump. He also showed his speed by finishing second in a tough field in the 55 meters. Johnson didn't stop when the Gaels went to the state private school meet several days later, again winning the triple and long jumps.
Coach of the Year
Steve Williams Poly
Williams led the Engineers to their second straight Class 2A state title. Williams wasn't all that experienced in track when taking over the team a couple of years ago, but he's helped build a strong team and program.
He has put a solid group together that doesn't just rely on a few kids, which is the reason Poly won city, regional and state titles. The team
