Century
The best player on the county's top team, Watt controlled the midfield as the No. 13 Knights went 12-2. They finished unbeaten in the county and in the Monocacy Valley Athletic Conference Chesapeake Division.
A club player with stellar skills and game sense, the senior could control a game with her two-way skills. The key to transition, she moved the Knights smoothly from defense to attack. Watt, who plans to play field hockey in college, also contributed three goals and four assists.
Westminster
After coaching junior varsity for two years, Rivera took over the varsity squad and turned it back into a winner. After going 5-8-1 a year ago, the Owls finished 10-3-1.
They won their first eight games without allowing a goal. Although they lost to Century and North Carroll, both games were decided by one goal. Rivera, a player for the Owls' 1996 state champs, set high goals early and brought the players together as a team.
