Bridgette Andrzejewski
McDonogh, forward, sophomore
A dominating presence as soon as she stepped on the field as a freshman, Andrzejewski finished with 15 goals and eight assists to earn All-Metro first-team honors. A member of the U.S. under-17 national team, she's the area's most complete forward.
Cassidy Babin
Archbishop Spalding, goalkeeper, senior
A three-year starter and All-Metro first-team pick last fall, Babin controls the penalty area. In leading the Cavaliers to the IAAM A Conference championship last year, she went 15-3-3 with 11 shutouts and made two timely saves when the title game against McDonogh went to penalty kicks.
Anna Bialczak
McDonogh, midfielder, senior
With strong two-way play in the middle last season, Bialczak (nine goals, seven assists) came into her own as an All-Metro first-team choice. A four-year starter, she'll be looked on to do even more this fall as a team leader and do-everything catalyst for the Eagles.
Eliza Harris
Friends, midfielder, senior
A dominating presence at both ends of the field, the Quakers standout scores, assists, defends and leads. Last season, she had 21 goals and 10 assists while playing either defensive midfield or center back. The four-year starter enters the season with 45 career goals and 25 assists.
Danielle Hogarth
Bryn Mawr, forward, senior
A four-year starter, Hogarth is one of the area's most technical and composed players, with the ability to finish off scoring chances or create opportunities for teammates. Despite heavy marking, she finished with 13 goals and three assists last season.
Clarissa Kirsch-Downs
Arundel, forward, senior
With fast pace and a poised touch, Kirsch-Downs is one of the most difficult players to mark in the area. In her second varsity season last fall, the All-Metro first-team selection finished with 19 goals and 12 assists. She scored in 16 of the Wildcats' 18 games last season.
Kacie Longo
South River, forward, senior
Longo (29 goals, six assists last season), a four-year starter and 2012 All-Metro Player of the Year, led the Seahawks to the Class 4A state title. The last of her 11 playoff goals tied the state championship game against defending champion Bethesda-Chevy Chase in the closing minutes of regulation.
Jennifer Nonn
Catonsville, forward, junior
After scoring 22 goals for the Comets as a freshman, Nonn avoided a sophomore slump with 24 last season. The All-Metro first-team selection, who added six assists in 2012, has incredible instinct and skills as one of the purest finishers in the area.
Sheridan Street
River Hill, forward, senior
Successful forwards, like Street, know exactly where to be at the right time. Always lurking in the penalty area, her quick release and accurate shot carry the Hawks. The All-Metro first-team pick scored 22 goals — including six game-winners — and added nine assists for the Class 3A state champions last fall.
Jenna Surdick
Arundel, defender, junior
With exceptional speed, foot skills and poise, Surdick has shown an ability to stay with all the top forwards. At sweeper, she anchored a defense that limited opponents to nine goals in the Wildcats' 16-2 season in 2012. Surdick also had one goal and two assists.
