Next weekend's state football semifinals have been set with seven teams from the Baltimore area advancing.
The field includes defending champions in three classes -- Northwest in 4A, Franklin in 3A and Fort Hill in 1A.
Nine remaining teams previously have won state titles, while seven have never won, including Glenelg, South Carroll and Douglass from Baltimore City.
Every team in the Class 4A semifinals has won at least one previous title. Class 3A has two previous winners, Franklin and Damascus. Class 1A has two previous winners, Fort Hill and Cambridge-South Dorchester.
Class 2A has three teams that have never won and Dunbar, which has won nine times, more than any other team in the field.
Here are next weekend's matchups with the state finals to be decided Dec. 4-6 at M&T Bank Stadium.
Class 4A
4 DuVal at 1 Northwest, Friday, 7 p.m.
3 Old Mill at 2 Howard, Friday, 7 p.m.
State final: Friday, Dec. 5, 7:30 p.m.
Class 3A
4 Glenelg at 1 Damascus, Friday, 7 p.m.
3 Thomas Stone at 2 Franklin, Friday 7 p.m.
State final: Thursday, Dec. 4, 7 p.m.
Class 2A
4 South Carroll vs. 1 Douglass-PG at Oxon Hill, Saturday, 1 p.m.
3 Dunbar at 2 Kent Island, Friday, 7 p.m.
State final: Saturday, Dec. 6, 7 p.m.
Class 1A
2 Surrattsville vs. 1 Fort Hill at Greenway Avenue Stadium, Friday, 7 p.m.
3 Douglass-B at 2 Cambridge-South Dorchester, Friday, 7 p.m.
