St. Mary's boys lacrosse coach Rubeor, area standouts earn national accolades

St. Mary's boys lacrosse coach Ben Rubeor has been chosen the American Family Insurance ALL-USA Boys Lacrosse Coach of the Year.

In addition, a number of area standouts were selected to the ALL-USA first-, second-, third; and honorable mention teams.

Rubeor, in his third season, led the No. 1 Saints (13-6) to the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference championship.  It was the program's first since 1996.

St. Mary's senior midfielder/faceoff specialist Alex Woodall, who was The Sun's Metro Player of the Year, was named to the ALL-USA 2014-15 first team, as was Calvert Hall senior attackman Timmy Kelly.

Here's a look at the other area players who earned honors.

ALL-USA second team: Ryan Conrad, Loyola Blakefield.

ALL-USA third team: Patrick Spencer, Boys' Latin; Alex McGovern, St. Paul's.

ALL-USA honorable mention: Robert Clark, McDonogh; Carter Flaig, St. Paul's; Robby Black, McDonogh; Kevin Fox, St. Mary's; Bryce Carrasco, St. Mary's; Dylan Gaines, Boys' Latin; Arman Medghalchi, McDonogh; AJ Barretto, St. Paul's; Jacob Stover, McDonogh.
