During the summer, Archbishop Spalding senior golfer Micaa' Thomas said getting the opportunity to compete in the 2014 Nature Valley First Tee Open at Pebble Beach Golf Links in California in September was "a dream come true."
She made sure to make it a memorable one. In her opening round, Thomas hit her approach shot on the par-5 14th hole within an inch of the hole, tapping it in for one of her three birdies.
The Golf Channel named it "The Shot of the Day" and she was interviewed following the round.
The national event featured 81 top junior golfers (boys and girls) and each were paired with a Champions Tour player. Thomas, who was matched with pro Olin Browne, finished 15th in the four-day tournament.
