Evan Santa, a Crofton resident and former South River golfer, shot a 1-under-par 71 to share top honors in the boys division of the Performance Based Enty (PBE) Qualifier-Easton at Talbot Country Club.
In the 18-hole stroke-play competition, an American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) event which featured 84 boys, Santa, who goes to DeMatha, made four birdies to tie Gus Minkin of York, Pa., with the best round.
PBE Qualifiers are 18- and 36-hole events, which provide an opportunity for AJGA members who have had limited AJGA playing opportunities to compete and continue building Performance Based Entry status.
