South Carroll quarterback Andrew Louder completed a 50-yard pass to teammate Silas Kelly to win the Ravens QB Challenge over rival North Carroll Sunday at halftime of the Ravens-Jaguars game at M&T Bank Stadium.
When the two teams met on Halloween, every touchdown was scored on the ground as South Carroll won 26-13, but Sunday Louder and North Carroll quarterback Jack Flowers staged a shootout in the Challenge, in which each passer has two attempts, with the longest completed pass winning.
Flowers opened the competition with a 41-yard pass to Austin Catley. Louder then hit Patrick Kelly for 45 yards.
After Flowers connected with Zach Sherman for 43 yards, the Cavaliers were already the winners, but Louder hit Kelly with the 50-yard strike.
Louder's connection with Kelly was the third-longest pass completed in this year's QB Challenge. Although there is no overall winner, C. Milton Wright's Omar Walker completed the longest pass, a 55-yard strike to his twin brother, Osiah.
The Cavaliers will receive a $250 college savings plan for each player and a $500 Under Armour gift card for the South Carroll school's athletics department.
One more QB Challenge remains this season, Eastern Tech vs. Towson on Dec. 28.
