St. Vincent Pallotti has named Dennis Murphy its new boys basketball coach and Rod Hairston its new girls basketball coach.
Murphy, a graduate of Catholic University, recently served as an assistant coach at Bishop O'Connell in Arlington, Va.
Hairston comes to Pallotti from the Bullis School, where he led the team to a 21-5 mark in the 2012-13 season. A 1992 Bowie State grad, Hairston coached at Eleanor Roosevelt from 1997-2009 and won five consecutive Class 4A state titles during that span.
