Owings Mills forward will play for Sheryl Swoopes

Whisper Fisher, an All-Baltimore County player from Owings Mills, will spend the next four years learning from one of the greatest women's basketball players of all time.

Fisher, a 6-foot-2 forward, has signed a letter of intent to play at Loyola University Chicago, which is coached by Sheryl Swoopes. A three-time WNBA MVP and three-time Olympic Gold Medalist, Swoopes has coached the Ramblers since 2013.

As a senior at Owings Mills, Fisher averaged 18.6 points, 10 rebounds and 3.4 blocks. She played AAU for the Maryland Lady Shooting Stars.

"She will be a great addition to the players we already have and what we are trying to build here at Loyola," Swoopes said in a news release. "She will make a huge impact in the paint for us defensively in the [Missouri] Valley [Conference] with her length and athleticism and will give us another inside presence on the offensive side as well."
