Old Mill, McDonogh, Meade all rise in state football poll

Old Mill, McDonogh and Meade all moved up in this week’s Maryland High School Football Media State Poll while Gilman, which did not play last weekend, remained at No. 2 behind DeMatha.

With its 35-21 win over Arundel, Old Mill rose from No. 8 to No. 6. McDonogh, which improved to 4-0 with a 35-0 win over Penn Charter (Pa.), jumped from No. 11 to No. 8. Meade beat South River, 45-24, and went from No. 10 to No. 9.

River Hill dropped from No. 9 to No. 10 while Calvert Hall dropped from No. 12 to No. 17, Arundel went from No. 13 to 19, Dunbar from 19 to 22, and St. Paul's from No. 22 to 24.

Franklin and Westminster dropped out of the Top 25 although Franklin is still receiving votes. Archbishop Curley also received votes.
