At No. 4, St. Frances, the MIAA A Conference champion, remained the highest-ranked Baltimore team in the Maryland High School Football Media State poll released Wednesday.

The Panthers (10-2) won the A Conference title for the first time, and finished behind No. 1 DeMatha, the 12-0 WCAC champion; No. 2 Wise the 14-0 Class 4A state champion; and No. 3 Damascus, the 14-0 Class 3A state champion.

Good Counsel (6-5) was No. 5 while Archbishop Spalding (9-2) remained No. 6 with McDonogh (8-3) at No. 7.

Franklin, the 11-2 Class 3A state finalist, moved up four spots to No. 10 after falling to Damascus, 14-12, in the title game.

Mount St. Joseph (7-4) moved up three spots to No. 12.

No. 15 Annapolis (11-2), No. 16 Howard (11-2) and No. 17 Milford Mill (10-2) all moved up. No. 18 St. Vincent Pallotti (10-2), the MIAA B Conference champion, No. 19 Broadneck (8-4) and No. 21 Mervo (9-3) were not ranked in the last poll which was released before the playoffs.

No. 20 Old Mill (10-1) dropped five spots.

Glenelg (10-3), Calvert Hall (7-5), Dunbar (9-4) and Hereford (10-1) also received votes cut did not crack the Top 25.
