South River has named Michael Hicks its new boys lacrosse coach.
Hicks, who has been with the program for a decade as its defensive coordinator, also teaches social studies at the school.
Hicks takes over for Paul Noone, who stepped down after guiding the Seahawks to three Class 4A-3A state championships in eight seasons.
"We are excited for Mike to take the reigns of our lacrosse program at South River High School," South River athletic director David Klingel said from a written release. "He has been an instrumental piece to the success of our program for the last decade. Mike and his staff will continue the long run of success South River has had on and off the field."
Noone went 128-22 in his eight seasons and led the Seahawks to the state semifinals this spring.
