Maryland Big 33 officials have named their watch list for the 58th Annual Big 33 Senior All-Star Football Classic with Pennsylvania on June 20 at Hersheypark Stadium.
Selection Committee chairman Brian Van Deusen, the River Hill coach who led Maryland to victory in this year's game, along with 2015 Big 33 coach Sean Murphy, of Archbishop Curley, are still working to identify other seniors who should be considered for the game.
"There's still an opportunity for a lot of the kids, and I'm still getting information from coaches from around the state," Murphy said. "These are just the kids we all came up with as a Big 33 committee, guys that we knew about and guys that showed up on the radar based on where they are being recruited. I don't want kids to think they're out. There's still plenty of opportunities."
Murphy said he hopes to have the team selected by the end of January. Some players on the watch list have committed to the game but others may not be able to play because they have to report to college before then. In early to mid-January, he said, officials likely will hold an open tryout to determine the final roster slots.
