McDonogh girls soccer picked as No. 1 team in nation to start the year

Four local schools were listed Tuesday in Student Sports' preseason Fab 50 national polls for boys and girls soccer, including the McDonogh girls at No. 1 in the country.

The McDonogh girls team returns nine starters, led by All-Metro first-team selections Bridgette Andrzejewski and Anna Bialczak, and the Eagles will play one of the country's most challenging schedules after finishing as the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference runner-up in 2012.
