Maryland offers John Carroll rising junior guard Immanuel Quickley

John Carroll boys basketball rising junior guard and reigning All-Metro Player of the Year Immanuel Quickley received a scholarship offer Monday from Maryland, he announced on Twitter.

Quickley recently was named one of 18 finalists for USA Basketball's under-17 FIBA World Championship team and is ranked as high as No. 9 nationally in the Class of 2018. He is the second Baltimore-area rising junior to receive a Terps offer, after Mount Saint Joseph forward and fellow under-17 finalist Jalen Smith.

Maryland already has offered Gonzaga (D.C.) point guard Prentiss Hubb, a top-30 player in the Class of 2018 who is considered to be leaning toward the Terps.

According to 247Sports.com, Cincinnati, Miami, Rhode Island, Central Florida, Southern California, Virginia Tech and Washington also have offered Quickley, who averaged 17.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.5 steals per game for the Patriots last season.
