Lake Clifton's Herman 'Tree' Harried to coach in Nike Global Challenge

Lake Clifton boys basketball coach Herman "Tree" Harried will coach Pan Africa at the Nike Global Challenge, a four-day, eight-team international tournament that features some of the top under-19 players in the world.

The event, which takes place at Trinity Washington University in Washington, D.C., is set to begin Thursday and run through Sunday.

The United States will be represented by East, North, South and West squads. In addition to Pan Africa, international teams from Brazil, Canada and France will participate.

Mount St. Joseph coach Pat Clatchey is an assistant coach for the East team, which includes Gaels rising senior guard Phil Booth and St. Frances rising senior forward Dwayne Morgan. Potomac rising senior guard Dion Wiley, who committed to Maryland last month, is also playing for the East squad.

Among the list of players who have played in the tournament are NBA standouts John Wall (Washington Wizards), Kyrie Irving (Cleveland Cavaliers) and Anthony Davis (New Orleans Pelicans).
